Incorporating Hawaiian Customs, Rituals & Traditions Into Your Wedding Ceremony

por | | 0 comments

Incorporating Hawaiian Customs, Rituals & Traditions Into Your Wedding Ceremony When a couple incorporates rituals, themes or traditions from the Hawaiian tradition, this makes a wedding ceremony extra sweet.

As I move into this year, I find that four of my couples are weaving in Hawaiian pieces into their ceremonies. There are many ways to do this. Chip and Susanne were married recently at St. Paul's Church in Port Gamble and being that Chip has family and history from Hawaii, this couple exchanged leis at the beginning of their ceremony and also offered leis to family members.

Using the koa wood bowl for the blessing of the rings and ring exchange is also something that I'm writing into a few ceremonies that I am working on.

And here's what's true: if you'd like to incorporate Hawaiian tradition/ritual into your ceremony and don't have ties to the Hawaiian culture, "just do it!" A wedding ceremony is all about finding what resonates with your heart and Hawaiian marriage customs/traditions are beautiful in all ways.

Where To Take A Girl On A First Date

por | | 0 comments

I feel sorry for attractive women. They get asked out so many times, but all their dates are the same: dinner, drinks, cinema. It must get old pretty quickly.

But this is an opportunity for some clever and creative guys out there, because if they can do some different stuff, it will be very attractive. It will also usually cost less! Where does a creative guy take a girl on a first date? Here's my best first date ideas:

1. Activity-based dates

An activity based date is where you meet and do something pretty exciting. It is great fun for her, but afterwards you should also go for a drink or sit down somewhere so that you can connect with her. She'll be much more open to it after a fun date. What are some examples of a good activity-based date?

-The fair.

-The games arcade. No not to play Tekken.
Do physical games like the dancing games, racing games, and if she is a bit tough, the punching games.

-Play a sport or game of table tennis, table football, darts, pool, badminton, or even trampolining.

-Go to a class together: Dancing (Salsa is good), pranayama, massage. If it is something you wanted to try already, even better.

-Fly a kite.

2. Nature-based date

Girls love animals and nature. Design a nature based date and it should be a memorable experience. Examples would be:

-Feeding the ducks and squirrels in the park.
-A boat trip up the river.
-The zoo (make sure she doesn't morally object).
-The aquarium..

3. Interest-based date

If she has expressed an interest in a certain area like art, history, or foreign films, take her on a date that matches this interest.

4. Tourist Stuff

It's amazing how many City-dwellers haven't done the famous tourist stuff in their city. Casually find out if she has been to Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, or whatever your local attraction is. Chances are neither of you have so it will make a great first date.

5. Buy a Local Events Guide

There are all kinds of cool events going on in big cities all the time. Things like food festivals, charity concerts, and street parties. Find one that sounds cool and go together.

By having an activity or something else as the focus of the date, it takes a lot of pressure off the interaction. By the time you sit down to talk, you will have a fun shared experience and she will already be more open to you. If you have taken a girl on a date like this, chances are she'll be telling all her friends about the great time she had, and she'll definitely be sold on seeing you again.

Lyrics

"Take A Bow"

Take a bow, the night is over
This masquerade is getting older
Lights are low, the curtains down
There's no one here
[There's no one here, there's no one in the crowd]
Say your lines but do you feel them
Do you mean what you say when there's no one around [no one around]
Watching you, watching me, one lonely star
[One lonely star you don't know who you are]

Chorus:

I've always been in love with you [always with you]
I guess you've always known it's true [you know it's true]
You took my love for granted, why oh why
The show is over, say good-bye

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye

Make them laugh, it comes so easy
When you get to the part
Where you're breaking my heart [breaking my heart]
Hide behind your smile, all the world loves a clown
[Just make 'em smile the whole world loves a clown]
Wish you well, I cannot stay
You deserve an award for the role that you played [role that you played]
No more masquerade, you're one lonely star
[One lonely star and you don't know who you are]

(chorus, repeat)

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye

All the world is a stage [world is a stage]
And everyone has their part [has their part]
But how was I to know which way the story'd go
How was I to know you'd break
[You'd break, you'd break, you'd break]
You'd break my heart

I've always been in love with you
[I've always been in love with you]
Guess you've always known
You took my love for granted, why oh why
The show is over, say good-bye

(chorus)

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye
Say good-bye

ABSOLUTELY! Consider Having Your Dog(s) As Part Of Your Wedding Ceremony & Day!

ABSOLUTELY! Consider Having Your Dog(s) As Part Of Your Wedding Ceremony & Day!I am now writing Dean and Karen's wedding ceremony for their big day at Kiana Lodge and found this wonderful photo attached to their completed ceremony homework.
Meet the "Ring Bearers!"

I absolutely love it when a couple involves their beloved dogs in a wedding ceremony. Dogs and children bring such joy to a ceremony - no matter what happens, little people and "children in fur" often bring laughter and levity to a ceremony - and help create a few more defining moments for the day!

Title: CONSIDER THE SOURCE Prophhet For Profit

http://myspace.com/considerthemusic I just happened to be lucky enough to see this band live on July 28, 2009. I instantly fell in love with this group- they are absolutely fantastic on their instruments and their pieces of music are dynamic and creative. The whole audience stopped in their tracks and watched these guys rip it up while the sun went down on Nokomis Beach. I am still high on their magical performance. I met all of the guys and they are humble and kind. John Ferrera is one of the best bassist I have ever seen live....and I have seen some of the best if that tells you anything.

Please visit their myspace for more information and I highly recommend their new disc, *Are You Watching Closely?* It is excellent all the way through. I love it!

Side note: We forgot the tripod, so I was just lucky to capture what I could on video.

Enjoy :)

Sam & Melanie's Wedding Day - and Wedding Dog Bailey's Day, too! Sam & Melanie Chamaty
Robinswood House, August 10, 2008
Wonderful Photo by: www.weddingsbyaziel.com

This Summer season, I have had such wonderful couples. Couples who embrace a conscious, connected and adventurous sense of marriage partnership.

And this goes for Sam and Melanie Chamaty - married under a beautiful Chuppah at Robinswood House in Bellevue at high Noon on Sunday, August 10th.

Sam and Melanie's interfaith ceremony was a wonderful affair - complete with different traditions, humor and joy and topping things off was "Wedding Dog" Bailey and his "canine email" and "bearing of the rings."

Congratulations, Sam and Melanie!

With Gratitude and Friendship,
Annemarie

Talk about synchronicity! I married two wonderful couples last weekend at the marvelous Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville.

Jesse & Kelly were married on Friday evening and one of the sweet moments were the wishes and wisdom shared by both Fathers from the couple's Grandparents who could not travel for the evening.

Less than 24 hours later, I was back at The Hollywood Schoolhouse (yeah!) for Dan and Sarah's Saturday evening ceremony, featured in the photo above. I am quite sure Dan and Sarah's wonderful photographer, Brooke Hendricks, "got" the huge smiles on their faces during the ceremony - I'll also make a bet that one of these images will be a favorite from this day!

If you are seeking a sweet and wonderful venue for your wedding ceremony, please contact Manager Lori Reeder at The Hollywood Schoolhouse - she's one of the best in this business and will take very good care of you. Take a peak: http://www.hollywoodschoolhouse.com/
