Steve and Trixie Harmon were just married at sunset on the historic Discovery Boat in the middle of Lake Union. And Steve and Trixie could not have selected a more perfect setting for their intimate ceremony and celebration.
Guests boarded the boat and after about a ten-minute boat ride, Steve and Trixie were married in a sweet ceremony with their children, family and closest friends.
Just take a peak at Lili and Jacob's photo taken by Flowertoss Photography during their wonderful wedding ceremony at Robinswood House in Bellevue.
Laughter ~ giggles ~ big and small smiles ~ all of this has a perfect and elegant place within a contemporary wedding ceremony.
Remarkably, I find that many people have not been to a wedding ceremony where the "joy bar" has been raised ~ i.e., where laughter and appropriate humor are a piece of a marriage ritual.
In most of the ceremonies that I create and deliver, I like to weave in bits of humor and laughter. Of course, this all depends on the couple, their background/traditions and "where we're going with a ceremony."
And overall, I have found that touches of laughter, sweetness and glee add a flourishing touch to a memorable moment.

Title: Mac and Rachel 1988--Elegant, Striking, Dashing? Fine.
I'm guessing this was before the 1988 Snowflake Ball, since Mac and Rachel are both wearing white, and it came after the previous scene I posted with Rachel and Matthew discussing St. Croix and the circumstances of Matthew's conception, which I will also venture to guess is the reason Rachel is so preoccupied in this scene.
Rachel helps Mac with the vest for his white tie and tails as he tells her that his flight home spent so much time taxiing around at the airport that he thought drive him wild, and Arnold Schwarzenegger was sitting next to him on the plane but slept through the whole flight, including the movie and dinner. Once the vest is on, Mac asks Rachel how it looks, and she says it looks fine. "Just fine?" Mac asks. "You don't think it's elegant? Striking? Dashing?" He hams it up in front of the mirror.
"What?" Rachel asks distractedly.
Mac lets out a puff of laughter. "Oh, please. Fine," he says since Rachel didn't agree with any of his adjectives. Thanks to Eddie for the scene.
Simon and I have taken our time "returning to the real world" after two marvelous weeks in Bali!
Thank you so much for being a part of our big day. We felt that the end result was perfect. Even the Windex went off without a hitch! It was elegant, fun and very 'us.'
We've attached a photograph that we think is hilarious. Perhaps right after the Windex? Your expression is priceless!

Title: Since I've Been Loving You - Led Zeppelin
Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin
Lyrics:
Working seven to eleven every night,
It really makes my life a drag,
I don't think that's right.
Ive really, really been the best of fools,
I did what I could,
cause I love you, baby,
How I love you, darling,
How I love you, baby,
How I love you, girl, little girl
.
But baby, since Ive been loving you, yeah,
I'm about to lose my worried mind, oh, yeah.
Everybody trying to tell me
That you didn't mean me no good.
Ive been trying, lord, let me tell you,
Let me tell you I really did the best I could.
Ive been working seven to eleven evry night,
It kinda makes my life a drag.
Lord, you know it aint right.
Since Ive been loving you,
I'm about to lose my worried mind.
Said Ive been crying,
My tears they fell like rain,
Don't you hear,
Don't you hear them falling,
Don't you hear,
Don't you hear them falling.
Do you remember, mama, when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me
You didn't want me no more,
I open my front door hearing my back door slam,
You must have one of them new fangled,
New fangled back door man,
Ive been working from seven, seven, seven,
To eleven every night,
It kinda makes my life a drag, a drag, drag,
Ah, yeah, it makes a drag.
Baby, since Ive been loving you,
I'm about to lose,
I'm about to lose, lose my worried mind.

Well, as I'm now fond of saying, Custer, Washington will never be the same after Parker and Amy's "Happily Ever After" Wedding Weekend Extravaganza this past Saturday, August 1st.
*****
Wedding Planner Stacy Kvam did an extraordinary job in bringing this couple's dream wedding to life. DJ Brian Dale was on hand to help insure the celebration was a resounding success.
And most of all, Parker and Amy's wedding ceremony was sweet, poignant and fun - including a "bee" up Amy's veil during the ceremony!
Parker and Amy - I wish you a blessed life together, wonderful adventures as you embark on your medical careers and my thought for you: "that on your wedding day, this is a day that you loved each other the least!"

Holiday Weekends are very popular for weddings.Really! This coming Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I have four wonderful weddings as couples often use the "buffer days" of a holiday weekend for extra time with out-of-town family and friends.
*********
If you're considering a wedding on a holiday weekend:
- send out "save the date cards" earlier than usual for planning purposes.
- book your hotel rooms for out-of-town guests early, particularly during the popular Summer months.
- consider a post-wedding Brunch or BBQ as a way to "tie a bow" on the wedding weekend.
- beware of special events "around town" and plan accordingly, i.e., timing of ceremony, etc.

There's no exact science to achieving high-school popularity. But you definitely don't have to throw half your class under the bus to get there.
To complete this How-To you will need:
Desire to be popular Good attitude Confidence Gimmick Sense of humor
Step 1: Be likable
Popularity boils down to being liked by your peers. Be friendly, positive, and respectful to everyone. Don't act like you're too good for anybody -- it's hard not to like a person who's fun and easy to be around.
Step 2: Be confident and visible
Confidence and visibility go hand in hand with popularity. Stand out, speak up, and burst out of your shell. Talk with or at least say hello to everyone within earshot and introduce yourself to anyone who doesn't already know you exist.
Step 3: Have diverse friends
Build a broad network of friends. Befriend people from all walks of high-school life by joining extracurricular activities.
Tip: Once every few days, during lunch, bounce around from table to table. You'll appear busy and important, and people will appreciate that you stopped by to chat.
Step 4: Get a gimmick
To be popular, you gotta get noticed -- and nothing will garner attention like a well-crafted gimmick. Wear a funky hat, carry around a harmonica -- anything that will attract interest.
Step 5: Have a sense of humor
Be funny! People always respond to humor. And don't be afraid to laugh at yourself now and then.
Step 6: Don't sell out
Never pick on unpopular kids or ditch old buddies. If you do manage to attain popularity, remember where you came from. Don't exclude people -- you never know when the high school social ladder will flip-flop and knock you down a few pegs.
