I received this picture today from Dawn whose wedding took place on July 11th. The runner she chose was a non-woven aisle runner (available at our Budget Boutique) and she also added a phrase to the runner for added decoration. Below you'll find pictures we shot before sending the runner to her, so you can get a better look.
Here's what Dawn had to say about her runner: "I loved, loved, loved my runner! It was definitely a show-stopper. People are still commenting about how unique our runner was."
Congratulations Dawn and Craig on what I'm sure was a beautiful wedding!

Greg and I are back from a wonderful two week vacation in the Caribbean ~ rested and excited to re-engage for a new year.
Much like a bride and groom may feel at the end of their wedding day, is how I often feel at the very end of a 10-month wedding season - happy, worn out and so glad it's over.
Glad it's over?!
Yes ~ absolutely. It's a wonderful feeling to know that my weddings for the year are complete and well done (hopefully my couples agree). What I'm not shy about sharing with my couples and colleagues in the wedding world is the gentle tension I often carry and hide around every wedding.
The challenge of creating and officiating a wedding ceremony is this: you can't do it over. So with this work comes a level of attention and performance that demands a high degree of dedication and planning to insure a beautiful and memorable result - i.e., an authentic weddding ceremony.
As Kelly and Ryan worked to create a beautiful wedding day experience, thousands of couples in the Puget Sound area are now planning their weddings for 2011. Let me humbly offer a few hard earned "planning tips from the frontline of all things wedding..."
~ Keep It Real: If you want to be married on Alki Beach with 2 witnesses ~ do it. If you want to be married at Villa Academy like Kelly and Ryan with great pomp, do it. This is your wedding and keeping it real means doing what is right for you. Tune out all "do this/do that" wedding noise and stay true to what is important to you.
~ Plan Not Only A Wedding, Plan A Marriage: Your engagement time is not only for wedding planning, it is a remarkable moment in time to grow deeper in your loving relationship. Ask the big questions, create your covenants, road map your vision/desires for your marriage - use your engagement time to grow deeper in love and understanding so you may walk into your wedding day with grace and ease.

Pioneer DDJ-T1 Traktor DJ Controller
http://www.proaudiostar.com
Here's our exclusive look at the Pioneer DDJ-T1 from inside NAMM. Pioneer has already released a feature video on it's Serato counterpart the DDJ-S1, and now here's your chance to get up close and personal with the four channel Traktor design.
It looks as though it really does emulate the feel of a Pioneer CDJ, with similar button style and layout, while at the same time manifesting specific functions of Traktor into it's a layout with the Effects and Fliter knobs. The layout of the mixer looks extremely intuitive and I'd expect no less from Pioneer. Cueing and assigning effects to the channels is clearly indicated by the light up buttons and the "master" and "sync" buttons look particularly useful when keeping track of your sync function in Traktor.
Overall not that far off from playing on a pair of Pioneer CDJ-2000's and a DJM-800. You'll miss your built in effects if you're used to having them on the mixer but if you're a serious Traktor user already or looking to dive in deeper this could get you there in a more compact and portable unit.
By: Scott Patterson Dating can be tough on many guys!
This is especially true when it comes to attracting women. The problem is guys tend to make many mistakes that they're not even aware of.
For instance, I was recently at a bar where I noticed a guy talking to an attractive woman. What's interesting was this guy was giving off confident body language, while not being aware that she was not interested in him. In essence, he was clueless about his ability to "pick-up this chick".
You could easily tell from the bored look in her eye, that she was looking for an opportunity to get away from this loser.
What's funny was he was actually a decent looking, well dressed guy. So obviously his problem wasn't his presentation. Instead he was doing a few things which were instantly turning her off and killing ANY chance of attraction
If he knew about these mistakes, and corrected them, he could have easily attracted this woman.
Now if you want to NOT be like this man, then I recommend you take a close look at these 4 MAJOR dating mistakes:
Dating Mistake #1- Not reading her body language
You can discover what a woman is feeling by observing her body language. Without saying a word, a woman will tell you when she's attracted or when she's repulsed.
Your job is to study her body language and calibrate. For instance if you see a bored look in her eye, then you know that you have to switch tactics and change the topic of conversation. Dating Mistake #2-Buying her affections with free drinks
One of the quickest ways to show lower status is to buy a woman a drink. Let me explain...
When you buy a woman many drinks, you're showing that you need to purchase her attention in order to start a conversation. While sometimes it's polite to buy a round, don't try to please her by constantly buying her drinks.
What's interesting is lots of other guys are great for making women drunk, but they're doing nothing to attract them. By buying drinks, they're simply making it easier for some other guy approach and pick them up. Dating Mistake #3- Acting too arrogant
One of the principles I recommend in my ebook is to act in an overconfident manner. But even though this personality trait is important, you should realize that acting TOO arrogant is just as bad.
While women love men with a good amount of confidence, having too much is an instant turn off. This means if you're dominating the conversation and bragging about your accomplishments, you're demonstrating a specific type of behavior which infuriates women.
In order to impress a woman, all you need to do is display confidence through your actions and body language. If give off a confident aura, you don't have to open your mouth to prove it.
Dating Mistake #4-Being a clown
Well know that many women are attracted to guys "with a sense of humor". However it's a mistake to act like a clown and try to do funny things around women. While it's important to be funny, it's equally vital to never look like a fool.
Being funny does nothing for building attraction.
Instead of trying to make her laugh, try using a technique which is known as "cocky/funny". This personality trait means focusing on teasing a woman with a bit of mock arrogance. Basically you're a funny guy who likes to bust a woman's chops about various things.
By being able to identify all of four of these dating mistakes, you'll be able increase your overall success with women. So your job is to quickly identify these mistakes and make a concerted effort to eradicate them!

Title: 16-bit ALU in minecraft
This is the first part of a planned 16-bit computer that will run entirely in minecraft. That computer will be "Hack" compatible, which is to say that it'll run code meant for the Hack machine described in The Elements of Computing Systems (a fantastic book that you should look up if you are at all interested in how computers work. Its website is http://www.idc.ac.il/tecs ).
Some more info:
The design was drawn up in a program called Redstone Simulator (does what it says on the tin), which was written by Baezon on the Minecraft Forums http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=17924
MCEdit ( http://minecraftforums.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=15522 ) was used to help clear off space and import the design into minecraft. Hours of experimenting with prototypes, modifications to the design, and debugging took place in the game itself, however.
This project is far from over. Memory, here I come...

Attraction and "playing hard to get" are complementary concepts, but not completely overlapping (I recommend reading my article - Can Playing Hard To Get Make You More Attractive?). While a little challenge can add some spark to any relationship (as children we hated playing hide-and-seek with those who hid in plain sight and as adults we quickly lose interest when there is no challenge), using "playing hard to get" as a basis for attraction is like playing on sinking sand.
The people I know who "play hard to get" and follow all kinds of rules about when you're supposed to call after a first date, when you are supposed to say I love you etc. are normally the least happy and seem to be the ones who have the most trouble finding good people and having lasting relationships. But so are the people who chase after people who play hard to get.
If you are in a relationship with someone playing hard to get, here are some tried-and-found-to-be-very-effective positive actions that you can take:
1. Go the way of least resistance - When resistance is the focus, it becomes even more powerful. So stop chasing him/her. If you chase a man or woman, he/she will usually run. If your intention is just to chase and not "catch" him or her, then keep chasing. But if you intention is to finally have this person in your loving arms, there is no point in chasing after him/her only for him/her to keep running. If the person is really into you and he/she realizes nobody is chasing after him/her, he/she will stop running and wait to be "caught" or start the chasing themselves.
I know stopping chasing is hard, because when things are not going the way you'd like them to go, it's easy to panic or want to act in some way to "force" it to happen. Many of us spin our wheels mentally, trying to force an outcome. But the beauty of the law of attraction is that we don't have to make things happen, we simply allow them to happen. So let go off the "how" and "when" and simply relax and allow the attraction process to unfold exactly as it will.
2. Inspire attraction not impose it - Attraction is much less concerned with breaking down resistance as it is with producing good feelings, touching deeper emotions and creating a shared bond (sense of kinship). Whatever the other person believes to be a "barrier' to having a relationship with you, he/she likely has reasons that make sense, at least to him/her. Trying to dismiss, shoot down or override his/her reasons only creates more tension and more resistance. Your explaining, arguing and convincing will not work because you are using logical solutions to an emotional need. People don't fall in love for logical reasons. They fall in love because of the emotions and then justify their decision logically.
Rather than trying to "break down" their resistance, you'll achieve more and faster by listening to his/her thoughts (words) and emotions (feelings). Their words and behaviours will often reveal the "emotional" information you need to move forward.
3. Just enjoy them - It can be hard to enjoy the other person when he or she is not responding the way you want him/her to be responding. But the more you appreciate whatever degree of attraction there is between the two of you (right -now-as-it-is), the more easily things seem to flow and the more attraction you are likely to create.
If you find yourself always chasing after men and women who are playing hard to get, then you seriously need to question your own emotional programming.

Title: Victor Wooten - Isn't She Lovely?
Music by Stevie Wonder
Recorded at the Northridge Library on January 23, 2010.
Victor Wooten undertook a four day "Library Tour" in Los Angeles. Three of the four stops were in the San Fernando Valley. He performed, spoke about his musical development and philosophy, answered questions and signed copies of his excellent book "The Music Lesson: A Spiritual Search for Growth through Music."
http://www.amazon.com/Music-Lesson-Spiritual-Search-Through/dp/0425220931/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264993360&sr=8-1
Victor demonstrates looping and how by playing the "wrong" notes musically, they cease being so wrong. Excellent lesson for all artists.
During this mini tour Victor seemed to avoid the slapping and popping that he is widely associated with, instead he focused on melody, groove and outside notes.
The event was sponsored by The Los Angeles Music Network. www.LAMN.com

Title: Meeting place - The Last Shadow Puppets
The Colder the night gets
The further she strains
And he doesn't like it
Being this way
And she tried so hard
To steer away
From the meeting place
But her heart had left her there
She clings to his consciousness
Wherever he layed
Struggles to sleep at night
And during the day
He's worried she's waiting in his dreams
To drag him back to the meeting place
His love had left in there
Where the voices still echoes
I'm sorry I met you darling
I'm sorry I met you
As she turned into the night
All he had was the words
"I'm sorry I met you darling
I'm sorry I left you"
Four weeks they had trolled around
Playing the fools
They knew the time would come
And time would be cruel
Because it is cruel to everyone
He is crying out from the meeting place
He stranded himself there
Where the voice still echo
I'm sorry I met you darling
I'm sorry I met you
As she turned into the night
All he had was the words
"I'm sorry I met you darling
I'm sorry I left you"
I'm sorry I met you darling
I'm sorry I've left you
Anri has a sparkle to her that lights up a room with her grace, style and smarts. John is one of those "great guys" who flys under the radar doing amazing things in this world...including being a Father to four terrific children.
John and Anri were married at home with their closest family and friends at their side.
I love all weddings. I treasure small weddings.
Small and intimate weddings have a sweetness to them...a "cozy factor" that you can't replicate at a venue, near the water or elsewhere.
Perhaps I love the small home wedding because that was what my wonderful husband, Greg, and I chose for our wedding. Two couples we treasured (and still do!), our Officiant Tom, and our four dogs as our "back-up witnesses!"
And of course, a wedding isn't about the size of the guest list. It's about the heart of a ritual that celebrates two people choosing each other for life.

Title: LADIES AND GENTLEMANS , THE NEW ELTON JOHN: William Cleere and the Marvelous Fellas - LABOR DAY
Piano rock! Thanks to genre icons Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John, Billy Joel and Ben Folds, it's a phenomenon that only comes along every so often. Now add William Cleere to that august company. Seeing nobody at the helm of the piano-rock yacht, Cleere dons the captain's cap and assumes the madman's mantle on his first single, "Labor Day" (released tomorrow via Mystery Lawn Music). Following in the footsteps of these ivory-tickling legends, Cleere paints an evocative picture of pre-autumnal, end-of-relationship bravado with vocal and ukulele assistance from Karla Kane of the Corner Laughers providing a lilting alto counterpart to Cleere's larger-than-life, Americana-tinged vocals. Cleere and his band the Marvellous Fellas (with Corner Laughers' Khoi Huynh on bass and Charlie Crabtree on drums) recorded "Labor Day," as well as a forthcoming album, in a marathon, one-day session at Allen Clapp's Mystery Lawn Studio in Sunnyvale, Calif. MAGNET is proud to debut "Labor Day" today. BBQ Burgers, hot dogs and suds not included!
Hello Robson and o.
I wanted to direct you to a band that is very heavily influenced by Sir Elton. There's a recent magazine article that talks about that influenece and an mp3.
The forthcoming CD from "William Cleere and the Marvelous Fellas" will also feature a cover of "High Flying Bird" which I will send you upon release for your enjoyment.
Well, if there ever was a very fun and memorable ceremony, I put Rahn and Dawn's marvelous wedding at Golden Gardens Park at the top of my short list! And this remarkable couple took everything in stride with grace and humor - you've gotta love that!
******
So, let's see...what were some of the elements and unexpected surprises to the Stolworthy's ceremony?
- lots of wind which made things very blustery and fun - a train in the middle of the ceremony (toot! toot!) - a microphone that wouldn't behave properly and finally did - gorgeous wedding vows - fabulous family and friends who took everything in stride - no parking. Na da. Guests walked in from all over - it was a packed day for people at the park. And no complaints were heard.
The most wonderful Cheryl Jones from www.inaframe.com took this beautiful photo of Rahn and Dawn and captured yesterday's festivities.
Rahn and Dawn - I suggest a picnic at Golden Gardens every year on your anniversary and wish you much happiness together....

Title: The Demon Daughter - Hakuna Matata Style
Here's the latest Rhiolly parody for ya'll to hate on. :)
This is kind of based on the harsh opinions expressed in the video, "Hitler was not dazzled by Breaking Dawn." Once again, we do feel this way, but we still love Twilight no matter what we say. I'll have to admit it to myself one day/
This idea was born whilst we were waiting in the KFC drive-thru. In between pondering what exactly were the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices, the dulcet tones of Timon and Pumbaa began yodeling out of my crappy stereo system thingie. And the song-plotting ensued. I think one of our early stage lyrics was:
"When he was a young vampire...
WHEN I WAS A YOUNG VAMPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!
You were really fat.
So's your mum."
Thankfully, we progressed a little further than Twum Jokes.
*choikes on saliva. And TomStud*
OH! SPEAKING OF, we dedicate this video to the entirety of HotHoboLove, as we are proud to introduce....

Btw, Plaids, Rhianne and I have a new vid planned for you. Hopefully that'll be up next week. And hopefully the last two songs we filmed will finally get put up. These involve Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus. I've decided I have no taste in music.

Anyway. Laters, haters.
