Ryan and Christina were married on April 18th at the marvelous and historic St. Paul's Church in Port Gamble. From California, I worked with Ryan and Christina via email and phone on their wedding ceremony and finally had the pleasure of meeting them at rehearsal.
Ryan and Christina's wedding was a perfect mix of the sacred, the contemporary and a little fun, too. Ryan and Christina had quite the enthusiastic wedding party that made the ceremony that much more memorable!
Mark and Kacie "tied the knot" on Sunday, August 15th at one of my most favorite venues on the planet for a wedding ceremony and reception!
Kacie was absolutely stunning in her gown and Mark was all smiles as Kacie was escorted down the aisle by her Father.
This couple had a traditional and contemporary "feel" about them - and sometimes, this is more challenging to incorporate into a ceremony as you are straddling both formal and more fun and upbeat pieces within a wedding ceremony.
And everything "mixed well" ~ there were a few tears, a few laughs, a little seating snafu that turned out just fine and an amazing post-ceremony group photo ~ don't you just love a wedding!

Title: One puke, 25 shots
A priceless night for Mark at Kacie's 21st birthday.
I had the honor of officiating Rich and Patricia's Interfaith wedding ceremony a week or so ago. Their wedding ceremony was blessed under a Chuppah and their multi-faith ceremony included beautiful elements from some of the world's most beautiful faiths and traditions.
If you are celebrating different faiths and beliefs/backgrounds within your wedding ceremony, there is great latitude in how you build and create your wedding ceremony. Find an Officiant who will work directly with you to incorporate your personal elements and pieces that are heartfelt and poignant.
Your wedding ceremony is a tapestry of sorts - it weaves together the past, the present and the future. Take on the wonderful opportunity to make it truly your own.

Title: From Shabby to Chic Making the ordinary FABULOUS pt. 1
In this installment of our blog hop Marion Smith (A piece of craft dot com) and I share with you some upcycling ideas on how to repurpose thrift store and flea market finds into your every day crafting. In this video I will be sharing a how to on creating a beautiful floral broach out of old wool sweaters and old costume jewelry that can easily be found at a thrift store or flea market. Check out our blogs to see more on how to win a fabulous prize pack that we will be offering this month. www.blogerisms.blogspot.com (you can find marions site there too!)
As I meet with couples this month and throughout the Fall for 2009, I'd like to share a few tips for your ceremony that will help you save money:
- Plan Your Ceremony For Mid-Day and Enjoy Brunch or Lunch: You'll save money by getting married in the late morning or early afternoon - enjoy a celebration lunch or brunch instead of a more formal or lavish dinner.
- Plan a Weekday Wedding, i.e., Monday-Friday:That's right! More of my couples are getting married on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening and save on all vendor categories. In addition, these couples are getting a significant discount from their venue/reception site for booking space that "is just sitting there."
- Stay "Local" - You'll save money by staying "local" and will avoid some of the hidden expenses of destination weddings, i.e., more hotel nights, transportation expenses for vendors, etc.

Title: 1 of 3: The Purpose, Planning and Packing your Bug-Out-Bag 1/3
The Purpose, Planning and Packing your Bug-Out-Bag 1/3
This video series goes over information concerning the 'Bug-Out-Bag'. For those just starting out this will give you a good idea on the basics of building your own BOB.
the Bug-Out-Bag
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug-out_bag
Ten Essentials
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Essentials
BOBs are not new but are gaining popularity as ppl understand that they need to be responsible for the safety of themselves and their family members. Lots of info on BOBs can be found on the internet but you need to build your BOB for you, your location and the possible emergencies you might face. Many ppl cannot spend lots of money on their BOB, so the information here is geared toward those who dont have a lot of money &/or those who are just beginning to gather information on what a BOB is and how it is to be used in conjunction with various survival skills. You can have the most expensive and high tech BOB but if you cannot use the items to survival (IOW you have little or no skills) then your BOB is worthless.
A BOB is not just a bag of stuff, but tool to help you survive in an emergency. The greatest tool you have is you and your abilities to evaluate your situation, build a BOB and practice using it so your confident in your abilities and equipment. Remember this is just an introductory look and not an all inclusive video series.
I hope this helps.

Each Fall, I lead an 8-week intensive program with a dozen Wedding Celebrants & Officiants from all around our Country.
And tonight, as I write this blog, I'm about to lead our last class/program and am so very inspired with the caliber and heart of all that is a "Wedding Officiant/Celebrant."
In this work that I do, it's illuminating to me to really understand the heart and drive of a passionate Officiant/Celebrant ~ one that is fully committed to providing services to an engaged couple at the "perfume level."
As I finish with this group of 12 outstanding Wedding Officiants/Celebrants, I offer this insight into a heart of an Officiant:
~ The best Officiants are passionate about what they do. They are grateful for the opportunity to create and officiate ceremony and everything they do is about a couple and their wedding day.
~ The best Officiants truly freak out once or twice a year. This work can be intense and very personal and we're not perfect. We fall down. We screw up. We forget something. The best Officiants freak out and get over it - or if they mess up, they make it right. Always.
~ The best Officiants know a wedding ceremony is not about them. While a big focus of a ceremony is on an Officiant, the true focus is the couple. And a great Officiant works to showcase a couple and their people/tribe!

Title: Blue October- It's Just Me (Hidden Track)
Track found at the end of 18th floor balcony. exclusive to the original foiled album.
i do not own this song
I lost a piece of me in you;
I think I left it in your arms.
I forget the reasons I got scared,
But remember that I cared quite a lot.
You see but lately I've been on my own.
Yeah one, but one by choice.
You see, thats a first for me,
There's only me, yeah theres only me,
And now I realize for once,
It's just me.
It's just me.
It's just me,
And I'll find a way to make it,
There's noone left to stop me.
Here I go.
Can we take it from the top?
So why so long?
So sad, I wanna be strong.
Don't try to take this from me.
I'm already spent living half my life undone
So why so long?
So sad, I wanna be strong.
Don't try to take this from me.
I've already spent my life living half undone.
I've been talking to my aunts and uncles, mom and dad again.
I've been finding out that I have what this world calls friends.
I've tried to push them all away,
They push me back and wanna stay
And that's one good thing I have.
I'm gonna feel a peace in me,
I'm gonna feel at home.
I'm gonna make this cloud above me disappear, be gone.
I wanna feel a punch inside, my heart beat on the floor.
I don't wanna hurt no more.
Yeah it's just me.
It's just me
And i'll find a way to make it.
There's noone left to stop me.
Here i go, can we take it from the top?
So why so long?
So sad, I wanna be strong.
Don't try to take her from me.
I've already spent my life living half undone.
So why so long?
So sad, i wanna be strong.
Don't try to take her from me.
I've already spent my life living half undone.
I used to be the one who won before.
I used to smile but dont no more.
I'm living just to watch it all go by.

Me doing "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath in American Sign Language. There are some pictures thrown in too. Some are a tiny bit graphic and sad to go along with my interpretation of the song, but they get happier I promise.
I spent a lot of time on this video, so please let me know what you think! This is pretty hard to sign, haha...a lot of signs and it's super fast! =)
God bless!

Here are the lyrics:
Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black top
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breathe in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere,
Why have I never cared?
Chorus:
Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity
Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me Your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what's underneath
There's a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work
He's buying time
All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?
Chorus
I've been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way You see the people all along
Chorus (x2)
