This couple's ceremony was a mix of traditional and contemporary elements - and a few pieces of humor along the way.

If you've never been to the Tacoma Museum of Art, you must take a peak. It is a an undiscovered gem of a venue for a wedding ceremony and celebration.

We're talking snow, rain, intense cold, sunshine - all in a five hour period!

If you are planning a Winter or Spring wedding, weather is what it is. And what's true is that it does indeed add to the texture of the day. During Coleen and Bernie's wedding, the weather was absolutely nuts and family and friends took this all in stride and now "weather mania" is now one imperfect and wonderful memory to take from this day.

Mark and Kacie's Wedding Ceremony and Celebration at Kiana Lodge

Mark and Kacie "tied the knot" on Sunday, August 15th at one of my most favorite venues on the planet for a wedding ceremony and reception!

Kacie was absolutely stunning in her gown and Mark was all smiles as Kacie was escorted down the aisle by her Father.

This couple had a traditional and contemporary "feel" about them - and sometimes, this is more challenging to incorporate into a ceremony as you are straddling both formal and more fun and upbeat pieces within a wedding ceremony.

And everything "mixed well" ~ there were a few tears, a few laughs, a little seating snafu that turned out just fine and an amazing post-ceremony group photo ~ don't you just love a wedding!

I had the honor of officiating Rich and Patricia's Interfaith wedding ceremony a week or so ago. Their wedding ceremony was blessed under a Chuppah and their multi-faith ceremony included beautiful elements from some of the world's most beautiful faiths and traditions.

If you are celebrating different faiths and beliefs/backgrounds within your wedding ceremony, there is great latitude in how you build and create your wedding ceremony. Find an Officiant who will work directly with you to incorporate your personal elements and pieces that are heartfelt and poignant.

Okay, just look at these sweet smiling faces!

Andre and Amanda are one of those young "it" couples. They met as teen-agers and have created a most remarkable, loving and compassionate relationship over the past six years. And for a big chunk of those years, this included a long-distance relationship.

In front of 200+ family and friends, Andre and Amanda exchanged their vows. A sweet moment in the ceremony for me was when little flower girl Nola walked down the aisle. I was fortunate to have married her parents, Mark and Meghan, a few years ago at Bastyr Chapel and if you know this couple, their little girl is going to be a dynamo in life!

Andre and Amanda - thank you for trusting me with your story. I left your ceremony with a little lilt in my step ~ it was fun to be back in my old neighborhood (Issaquah), where I lived for six years before moving to Bainbridge Island.

Kacy and Cindy were married high in the sky on April 4th and Sean Werner of www.weddingphotog.com captured this wonderful shot. During the ceremony, Kacy showed me his very unique ring.

You see, Kacy and Cindy love the Grand Tetons mountains and this place has a lot of significance for them as a couple. So, Kacy had his ring custom made with the image of the Grand Tetons surrounding his wedding band. Very fun. Very beautiful.

In 1960 25 Boy Scouts from Fort Wayne, Indiana hiked from the South Rim to the North Rim in July. Six of those original Boy Scouts repeated a hike to bottom and back. This time they were accompanied by their mates and one daughter, which was much nicer than the first time. Also this time we had an embedded reporter covering the story. The folks on this hike were: Doug Welch and Vicki Welch; Jim Pinter and Teresa Pinter; Jim Stone and Cindy Ratermann; Michael Levy and Kathleen Kirk; Phil Bloom and Jessie Bloom; Richard Stamats and Kacey Stamats; Tom Roberson and Linda Lee.
