If you are getting married this coming weekend in Seattle, I invite you to be "Seafair aware!"
The bridges will be closed mid-day starting Thursday thru Sunday which can create chaos with some wedding guests who don't plan on this - and end up arriving late. This can also include key members of the wedding party and immediate family.
So, if you're attending a wedding or it's your wonderful wedding, put out a "Wedding 911" to "get across the bridge in time!"

Title: Seafair - Boating & Blue Angels
Went out on Saturday this last weekend on my friends ski boat to see the Blue Angels air show for Seafair weekend. I did not get any hydoplane video this year maybe next. I also wanted to show how many boats were out on the water. It was kind of cloudy early on but did get better as time went by. I think I started around 12:00 noon and air show was done around 4:00 pm or so but we did some waterskiing before going in to port. We were in a 1972 Ski Natique the original ski boat. Hope you enjoy and p.s. don't drink and boat, there was a ton of people getting tickets.
The very spunky and fun Jenny of www.jennygg.com perfectly captured "Justin's dip" as Justin and Desiree celebrated the end of their wedding ceremony. Justin and Desiree recently held their wedding at Illahee Manor, a waterfront bed and breakfast, in Bremerton, WA.
It was a crazy hot day and while some of us were wilting a bit in the sun (okay, truth!), this beautiful couple happily smiled and glowed the entire time during their ceremony.
I especially loved how Justin's Mother made a few impromptu comments during the ceremony that just seemed to fit each sweet and spontaneous moment. In many ways, the spontaneous and unexpected pieces/moments of a wedding become a unique part of a couple's story - and truth be told, a wedding day usually holds more than a few of these moments!

Do you or someone you know have to count out all your medications each week and put them in those little plastic pill cases so you dont lose track? Do you take so many pills you have to have a case for morning, noon and night? Do you or someone you know struggle with your health so much that you have a pill to go to sleep, a pill to wake up, a pill to go to the bathroom, a pill to stop going to the bathroom too much, a pill to be happy, a pill to get in the mood or a pill for one of the many other functions of life that used to just come naturally?
Are you tired or frustrated having to pop all these pills yet never feeling any better?
When you have nothing more to lose, then you have everything left to gain.

Marcy's story of leaving her pills behind:
"After 12 years of being on Zoloft pills I am finally off them. It's been 4 weeks since I've taken any. It happened by accident. I was using Frankincence on my moles, Lemon in my water and Hope on a cold sore root on my lower lip. I wasn't even trying to get off my antidepressants because I didn't think it was possible (yeah, oh ye of little faith). Anyway after doing this routine for 1 week, I noticed that I had forgotten to take 3 days of zoloft. This never happens as I would immediately crave chocolate and then remember I hadn't taken my pill. So, I then continued this routine for another 3 weeks, then went down to one pill a week for 3 more weeks, then quit completely.

I've assisted schools in Hawaii, Missouri and North Carolina with their curriculum and I've been a program director as well.
I also provide consulting services for massage schools around the U.S. and I am co-creating a teacher training program with Robin Fann.
My studies include many modalities, including advanced cranio sacral therapy, chakra healing, reiki, myofascial release, medical massage, lomilomi, neuromuscular therapy, foot reflexology, thai massage, hot stone massage, raindrop therapy , Gestalt Therapy, Breathwork, Somato-emotional Release and more!

Working with my Higher Self, the Soul Network, the Divine, and Ascended Masters and other divine beings, I have created a Reiki blanket of energy around the planet that will sprinkle "snowflakes" or "raindrops" of Holiday Spirit energy, containing the energies of love, peace, happiness, togetherness, thankfulness, family, respect, Thanksgiving, Yule, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza (forgive the spelling if any of that is wrong) all working together. This video will make that construction stronger every time it is watched. It will send a 24 hour Reiki treatment to send the Holiday Spirit throughout the world. It will also activate a small energy treatment of the Holiday Spirit energies in you, so the spirit of the holidays can stay in our hearts all the year long.
It was such a sweet moment on Monday the 22nd for the family and friends of Andrew and Vivian, married at the wonderful DeLille Cellars in Woodinville.
I captured this photo of Andrew and Vivian just before their ceremony. It was a treat for me to work with this couple. Together, we created a warm and intimate ceremony that reflected Andrew and Vivian's values, backgrounds and loving relationship.
Andrew and Vivian - how blessed you are to have each other! As Andrew said in his vows, "little did I know that two years ago I would find this wonderful path with you, Vivian!" Andrew, I agree!

Vivian began formal voice training at the age of eight at the Pittsburgh Musical Institute, later continuing at New Yorks Juilliard School of Music followed by years of extensive dance training.
She became a polished performer under the guidance of Honi Coles and Bobby Schiffman of the Apollo Theater and soon after made an impressive Broadway debut, replacing Micki Grant in Dont Bother Me, I Cant Cope. Vivians rousing performance prompted director Vinnette Carroll to stage another production of the show in Chicago, where she revised the show to take advantage of Vivians singing, dancing and acting talents. Two years later, Vivian auditioned for the musical Bubbling Brown Sugar, the first of several popular revues based on music of the 20s and 30s. Although she was hired immediately, she soon discovered there was no existing part for her, so she created the role of Young Irene. The show toured the country to rave reviews before it opened on Broadway; likewise a smash success! Her show-stopping performance, included a dazzling song and dance production of Sweet Georgia Brown and a unique vocal rendition of God Bless the Child that won her critical acclaim, including a TONY NOMINATION, DRAMA DESK AWARD, THEATRE WORLD AWARD, OUTER CRITICS CIRCLE AWARD, NAACP AWARD and several others.
After Broadway, Vivian went to Los Angeles to open another company of Bubbling Brown Sugar and then on to Europe with the show, touring such countries as England, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Italy and France. While recognizing Vivians own unique talents, Paris proclaimed her The New Josephine Baker. She captured the attention of Pierre Cardin, who booked Vivian into his theater and held her over for several weeks. Through Cardin, she went to Japan for the first time and made her first European TV special. Later, she was invited by the Prince and Princess of Monaco to perform in Monte Carlo.
Vivian has appeared on many TV variety and talk shows both nationally and internationally including The Tonight Show, The Today Show and the ABC-TV daytime drama, One Life to Live. She has shared the bill with notable performers as Bill Cosby, Pattie Labelle, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Melba Moore, Elaine Stritch, Alan King, Sammy Davis Jr., Quincy Jones, Ashford and Simpson and Charles Aznavour, just to name a few. Her film credits include Heading for Broadway, LAfricaine with Catherine Deneuve and Le Rumba, in which she portrayed Josephine Baker.
Vivian has also brought her nightclub act to major gatherings of organization and dignitaries, including Mercedes Benz, IBM, Top Fashion Designers Gala at the Theatre Champs Elysees and the American Film Festival in Deauville. She appeared at the Festival del Vina in Chile, along with other top performers like Laura Branigan, Sting, Mister Mister and Jon Secada. There she received the coveted Torch Award, an honor bestowed by the mayor and citizens of Vina for only the most exceptional and stirring performances.
Besides her international success as an actress and entertainer, she has also been featured in the worlds most read and influential news and fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Paris Match, People, Ebony, Jet (cover) and Time Magazine. Her personal style and taste for designer clothes have won her a place on Mr. Blackwells Best Dressed Women List and she was selected by People Magazine as one of the 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year.
In recent years, Vivian has starred in New York at the Rainbow and Stars in a rhythm and blues revue and the Supper Club in a swing revue. She received critical acclaim in major productions of Sophisticated Ladies, Roar of the Greasepaint, Smell of the Crowd, Blues in the Night, High Rollers in which she received a TONY NOMINATION, Show Boat in which she portrayed the role of Queenie and Tintypes. Her recent plays include Blues for an Alabama Sky, Crumbs from the table of Joy, Pork Pie and Cookin At The Cookery. Vivian was featured in the highly anticipated Marie Christine Lincoln Center. She also portrayed Lena Horne in a new piece, More than a Song, with the Pittsburgh Ballet Company at the Benedum Theater in Pittsburgh. Vivian contributed her talents to the Lena Horne Awards Show hosted by Bill Cosby honoring Rosie ODonnell and Quincy Jones at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Recently she appeared in Three Mo Divas, the follow-up to Three Mo Tenors at the San Diego Rep and Arena Stage in Washington, DC. Presently Vivian is putting together her own show which should be ready in a few months.

If your love life needs a quick boost, you can use the art of placement to produce the romantic results you desire. Heidi Richards
Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) is the ancient Asian practice of object arrangement and space planning designed to bring balance, harmony and well-being to your environment. Its purpose is to enhance prosperity, creative, health and romance. Feng Shui fortifies a home with positive energy known as chi. The attainment of positive chi is both an art and a blessing to those who manifest that chi. The word feng means wind and shui means water, each one associated with a good harvest and ultimate good health or good fortune.
If your love life needs a quick boost, you can use the art of placement to produce the romantic results you desire. Relationships need the proper environment to grow. They need the balance of the five elements, too much or too little will find the romance wither. Here are some Feng Shui tips to enhance your romantic space:
The first thing you must do is remove clutter out of your romance area (generally this is the bedroom). That means you must remove trash, dirty ashtrays, dead plants and nothing should be stored under the bed. Dust and cobwebs on the fans, walls, light fixtures and ceilings should be cleaned away.
Enhance your space with romance colors, such as shades of pinks, reds and whites. Guys, this does not mean it has to be feminine. You can use maroon, grayish tones of pinks and whites to achieve the same results. The key is to not use any one color so much that it overpowers the others. Other good colors include browns, beiges, lavenders, yellows and deeper shades of those are appropriate.
If you keep flowers in the room (an excellent way to attract romance into your life), make sure they are always fresh. At the first sign of wilting, toss them out. Silk flowers are an okay alternative, provided they are free of dust. Absolutely no dried flowers as they signify death. Also, make sure the roses are de-thorned. Nothing prickly such as cactus, unless your goal is to break-up.
In Feng Shui a Relationship Alter positively stimulates a relationship. Designate a special place in your romance area in which to put items that will encourage a healthy, loving relationship. Things to include in your relationship altar can include a heart shaped pink crystal quartz, a pair of candles, mandarin ducks. Use the Pairs Principle to encourage love. That means two candles, two nightstands, two lights on top, two potted plants, two pillows, two chairs, etc. The Chinese symbol for love is Mandarin ducks. They signify love, romance, fidelity, affection, and loyalty in love.
Your bed should be placed in the commanding position of the room. This is to permit the widest possible vision. The door or entry to the room should be easily seen from the bed. And the head of the bed should be against a wall or against a corner. If you have nightstands, make sure one is on either side (a pair) and that the bed is accessible on three sides to attract and keep a partner. The bed should not be placed under a window.
The bedroom is for sleep and intimacy. No one should come into your room without your invitation. There should be no distractions such as workout equipment, a television, things that would remind you of work. It is good to hang pink (heart-shaped) crystals and wind chimes in a sunny window to attract good love energy (yang).
Pictures of you as a child, your children or other relatives should also be removed from the bedroom or romance area. This space should be reserved for couples and should only display pictures of the two of you. Dim lights will give the room a warm, inviting feeling. No harsh fluorescents or high wattage lighting, here.
While this is by no means the ultimate guide to Feng Shui for Romance, it is a good start. These ten tips will give your relationship area the boost it deserves and your romance the fulfillment it requires. Altar your space and you will altar your love life.

Lure luck your way at your workplace by arranging things according to the ancient Chinese design philosophy known as feng shui.
To complete this How-To you will need:
A plant A desktop fountain or fishbowl Blue, purple, and red desk accessories A black briefcase or laptop bag Photos A desk lamp
Step 1: Get rid of clutter
De-clutter your desk and workspace, which is the most important thing you can do to balance the _chi_or energyin your office.
Step 2: Toss or fix anything broken
Repair or get rid of anything that's brokenlike a pen that's out of ink or a flickering desk lamp. They block your chi.
Step 3: Get a plant
Put a plant on your desk to absorb energy-draining emissions from your computer. Just avoid cacti, whose pointy needles attract negative energy.
Tip: Try an orchid if your job requires you to suffer fools gladly. Feng shui experts believe orchids are symbols of patience.
Step 4: Have a view of the door
The placement of your desk and chair should allow you to see who's coming into the room. Business and opportunity symbolically come to you through the door; so don't turn your back on it. If you can, position your desk so a solid wall is behind you.
Tip: To "watch your back" even more effectively, make sure your chair has proper back support.
Step 5: Get a fountain or fishbowl
Place a desktop fountain or fish bowl on or near your desk. These decorations activate the water element, inviting the flow of money and success. Feng shui aside, fish and fountains are relaxing. They'll help calm you down when you're stressed.
Step 6: Use the right colors
Use desk accessories and office supplies in blues, purples, and reds, which are the colors of calm, creativity, and recognition. Black is the color of money, so use a black briefcase or laptop bag.
Step 7: Arrange family photos
To promote harmony, place pictures of loved ones on the upper-right corner of your desk.
Step 8: Keep garbage away
Keep your wastebasket as far away from your desk as possible. If you must have one, place it at the bottom-left corner of your desk.
Step 9: Adjust the lighting
If your office has overhead, fluorescent lighting, try getting one of the bulbs removed to decrease the lighting intensity. Then, add a desk lamp that provides the right amount of lighting for your work area.

I'm not a big fan of wedding receiving lines. This goes for casual or formal weddings, small or large guest lists. I'm also not a big fan of having a couple immediately greet family and friends immediately after their ceremony.
Why?
A wedding ceremony is a vulnerable and emotional life experience. I encourage each of my couples to take a few moments of private time - whether it's a few minutes or 15-20 minutes - to just "be" together. Most of my couples take advantage of this and use the time to be alone, put their feet up, take a walk or just snuggle and take in the first moments of "Gosh, we are really married!"
This also gives your family and friends a few minutes to get up, get something to drink and mix and mingle a bit. A wedding day goes so fast - capture and create "defining moments" and allow your post ceremony "quiet time" to be one of them.

Bill and Tiffany perfectly timed their Summer '08 wedding ceremony on the shore of Lake Union with the natural light of the evening sun. It wasn't too sunny and it wasn't too dark - just perfect.
As you look ahead to your wedding ceremony this year, consider a few things if you're planning your wedding by the water's edge or in direct sunshine:
- Water's Edge: If you are being married at the water, consider boats, gawkers and general noise. There are many fabulous venues around the Puget Sound area that are quiet, serene and perfect for a wedding ceremony. However, at some area waterfront areas and parks (even a few well-known reception venues!), consider how people in/on the water and around the space will/may impact your ceremony.
- Sunshine: There is nothing like being married in beautiful weather. And if you are being married outdoors, re-consider being married in direct sunshine. A little natural shade or created shade makes it much more comfortable for the couple (especially if it's very warm) and also makes for more beautiful pictures, i.e., there isn't as much squinting!

Title: Fridrich F2L: Going Slow and Looking Ahead
This is a tutorial on Going Slow and Looking Ahead in the F2L part of the Fridrich method. In this tutorial, I will talk about what Looking Ahead exactly is, how it's useful, and how to practice getting better at it.
Looking Ahead in F2L is one of the most important techniques in getting faster at the First Two Layers. In order to average under 20 seconds, it is imperative that you become very good at this skill. It will still help you in reaching sub 15 seconds times and even faster than that too. I cannot stress enough how important Going Slow and Looking Ahead will help you.
It is recommended that you average under 25 seconds for your F2L (F2L + Cross) before you attempt learning about Looking Ahead. If your F2L isn't under 25 seconds it really shouldn't be hard to get to that speed with some practice. I would also highly recommend looking at Badmephisto's F2L videos, even if you already average under 25 seconds for F2L. He talks about very important basic tips in getting faster at F2L that is definetly worth watching.
